So I started off trying to make a banner for my story In Witch... but then I realized that I still have no idea how to do anything on photoshop.




I was trying to recreate this picture but it didn't work



So knowing that I needed to actually do something creative I started working on My Little Sister's dress for her birthday.

August 30th 2010

Today was the final project for out fondant and gum paste cake decorating class. When we got to class we didn't realize that the cake wasn't supposed to already be on the cake board so we had to pry it off then cover it with fondant and then put it back on. You can't really tell we messed up at all thanks to the grass boarder.

My mom got my Little Sister a doll for her birthday but all because I told the little munchkin that I would make her a dress for her birthday and now her doll needed a dress to match.






My mom also taught me how to do some of the things she learned in her cake decorating class today. Four hours with my hands cover in icing is insane.

August 28th 2010: Fun with fondant

Today's creative thing is brought to you by cake decorating!

My mom and I are in a fondant cake decorating class and our final project is monday so tonight we made the cake, the icing, and colored the fondant that is going to cover the cake. Mixing that much fondant is like a day at the gym. Good thing all of our flowers and leaves have already been colored and made.

Today was my mom's birthday and a memorial race for my grandfather, which means that I didn't get a whole lot of anything creative done. However as late as it is I have written a few pages for a new chapter of my story In Witch... The begings of which on can find in on of my other blogs, I will post a link as soon as I am actually on my computer instead of on my phone.

On the back of my colored pencils it says "Use a wet paint brush over this to create a watercolor effect. For bold details, use a dry pencil on top of wet paper. Another technique is to crate 'pencil color palettes' by sketching dense color swatches onto plain paper, leaving room between swatches for mixing colors. Using a wet brush, dip into the 'dry pencil palette' and paint with vibrant custom color."

So I had to give this second suggestion a try.



Sadly I still can't actually paint with any talent :)


I actually tried to be slightly more creative then just doing one thing. I have had a pattern and material for months, so I sat done and cut out all the pieces, unfortuntly I have gained some weight since I actually got the material and I ran out and now have to go get more for the lining. I think it is going to be cute when it is done, this is what I have so far.

Why am I doing this?

The point of this blog is to make me commit to actually doing something every day. Now I have any number of creative interests, I like to write, sew, make jewelry, I'm learning cake decorating, and I learned something cool about painting with colored pencils that I wanted to try out. Due to my constantly changing obsessions I thought I would just do a catch all here. I will post pictures of what I make and blog about any problems or how long it took me to make something. I hope that with this commitment I will actually be able to follow through with makeing one creative thing a day.
