I know it has been a while but I got really busy and there was so much I wanted to do I got scared and didn't do any of it.

In the mean time I have been learning how to knit and I have made 2 little doll dressed







Edit: I made two doll shirts to go with the dresses I made last night.

Didn't do a whole lot today but I did practice using play-doh fun sets to shape fondant, like using the spaghetti feature to make long thin even hair for my Tangled cake. It's like play-doh for grown ups!

Today I did two things...

1) I made the shorts for the munchkins fairy costume, I didn't have the elastic or the measurments for it so I just used ribbons.

2) my mom makes pillow blankets and she asked if I wanted to help. I made a whole one, and I messed up at every turn. It turned out okay in the end but it was super frustrating. I was so frustrated I forgot to take a picture.

Wings are obnoxiously time consuming and potentially dangerous. I broke 3 needles on my sewing maching trying to sew pipe cleaners down, and one of them broke while I was hand cranking the machine so that the force of it actually running wouldn't force it to break, that one must have been faulty from the start. Anyway, the dress is done, the wings are made, the belt is finished, and the flowers are glued to the headband. The only thing not done is the shorts to wear under the dress, I'm not that worried about them. My little sister is going to try everything on tomorrow, here is me crossing my fingers and hoping it fits.

I got a whole lot done today on my little sister's fairy dress

1) I attatched the top and bottom half of the dress
- I only messed up in a couple of places but they were easy to fix, only difficulty was that I was still using invisible thread so it was hard to see

2) I made a belt for the dress out of sparkly purple material
- didn't realize that I needed graments until I got to this step, lucky for me I have a bunch of little silver ones left over from who knows what project. Good thing I have a bunch because I had to test two in order to remember just how they work
- downfall to the tiny graments, I have very thick ribbon to lace through them. Not a problem, I made it work.

3) only one fairy wing got made, but it was a doozy
- the pattern that says where to put the veins for the wings (aka sparkly white pipe cleaners) is on the pattern, and the material won't accept my white pencil so I did a crazy manovering trick and about a thousand pins to get the pipe cleaners on just right.

I think everything looks nice.

I worked on my munchkins Halloween costume some more today. I finished getting all the skirt pieces together and I was even able to use my dress maker dummy (aka Sally) to get it all lined up.







I had started working on this at my parents house but I picked it all up yesterday and decided to work on it at home now that time is running out. Then I realize that I had forgotten the silver tread at my parents. The crises was averted when I realized that I have invisible thread for the wings at my place As I was setting the fishing line like thread up on the maching I felt like I was making the emperor's new clothes.

So I just found an app on my phone that will make it much easier to update this blog, and it let's me add pictures, I love my phone a little more everyday.

Anyway enough about that. I worked on my little sister's dress some more today, I got all the petals sewn together, but I melted one of them a little but I should be able to hide that mishap. I forgot to take pictures while I was working though.

Last week I was sick and then lazy and I just needed some time to relax, so that means I wasn't very creative. Now I'm back, for the last two days I have been cutting out the pattern and material for my little sisters Halloween fairy costume. She is going to be so cute in it.

I took yesterday off from being creative but I did have a fun day with my little sister. Today I tried to make a flip book cartoon about a cat and a butterfly but of course I made it at the back of my note book so I can't get it to flip right and my real cat Wally wouldn't leave me alone while I tried to take pictures of the pages, I'll try to use a real camer to take pictures of it tomorrow instead of my flashless iPhone.

It seems like I am on a doodle kick and that I am wanting to learn more about drawing again, so I googled how to draw curls, which I tried some what successfully but when I tried to draw them on a person I got scared and just stuck with straight hair. I know its not very good but everyone has to start somewhere right.

today I practiced driving the stick shift some more and it took much longer than we thought. I decided that I actually wanted to work on my sketching some more so I took a picture I already drew and tried to recreate the basic shape of the original and then practiced drawing a different kind of hair and tried to work on shading. It no where near complete but I think it was and interesting attempt.

Today was epic cleaning day or I would have worked on sewing or made a necklace or something cool like that but I guess those kind of creative things will just have to wait for another day. I have done some writing, tryig to figure out there this story arc is going to go.

So tonight was Glee night...which means I didn't do a whole lot of anything, so instead of drawing yet another bad picture I cooked yummy food, and I think cooking can be just as creative as sewing or writing, at least I feel just as accomplished, expecially if all the food is edible and I didn't actually use any recipies.

Today I learned how to drive a stick shift so I didn't have a whole lot of time to be creative but I did look up a couple of tutorials and pictures of cartoon cats and practice drawing.

Today was the tall cake class in greenwood. The instructor was really nice and we learned some cool things about how to keep you cake from squishing itself or falling apart. I made a fall stacked cake that I will be taking to work tomorrow. The class was out in the store at Joann fabrics where customers can walk by and see what we are doing and I guess these two ladies really liked my cake because they went back to the cake decorating section and were trying to find the tree on top of my cake. When one of the ladies came back asking about it i told her that I had actually made the tree, pumpkins, and leaves.

Today was more cake decorating. I made the leaves for my fall cake that I am going to make in class this weekend and my mom and I made my Little Sister's birthday cake. There were some problems but it just looks like the castle might be under attack, no big deal. I think the grass and flower pots out front really added a lot to the cake.

Today I drew a bunch of fun doodles for my friends at work, unfortunately I gave them all away before I remembered to take pictures of them.

I also wrote another chapter of In Witch, it is interesting exploring Marlot's personality when she doesn't have Jack around to soften her up. If you want to know what I am talking about you will just have to wait for the update. I will try to actually update In Witch sometime before next Wednesday, I want to read over all of the older chapters to make sure I am still on the right track.

It was Glee night so not a whole lot got done but a new modified chapter has been writen for In Witch. I'm really happy with how my new chapters are turning out and I'm excited about where the story is going. I love Marlot when she is being sassy and I love it more when I get to play around with her magic, my leading lady is a witch after all.

I spent a good amount of my time today cleaning, which I think needs some creativity but I know that isn't enough. I think part of the reason I have slowed down so much when it comes to writing new chapters for In Witch is because I have lost track of the characters, so I am going back and reading my story from the beginning and making some edits along the way. So that is the creative thing I did today. I will actually try to start making things again soon but for some reason in the fall I want to write.

More cake decorating with my mom. What can I say, we signed up for a tiered cake class for next Sunday and we have to bring in two double layer cakes apiece. I decided to do a fall themed cake, complete with fallen leaves, scary looking trees, and pumpkins. I made the tree today out of dow rodes, black twist ties, and fondant, and the royal icing for the leaves.

Today my mom and I spent all day at a car show with our new 1974 VW Beetle while my dad was off buying a 1974 Dodge Challenger. Our bug was compleatly redone by the previous owner but my dad's Challenger is more of a project car. His plan is to document all the changes and improvements he makes to his new toy. I got to talking with my parents and we found a lot of information about the history of the challenger and when my dad is finished I am going to make a kind of poster he can have on display with his car with some of the history of it and pictures of his car as he was working on it. So my creative thing for the day was to make a couple of layouts for the poster. Layouts are kind of my thing after studying advertising in college and working as a book designer. I'm really excited to get started on it and to see my dads new car all put together.

I haven't actually updated my story In Witch... But I have just written a new chapter and Marlot is getting mean. I love it when my characters can express emotions that I am just not good at showing. I will try to update my blog with the new chapter sometime next week.

Today I wore the Alice in Wonderland necklace that I made a couple of months ago and a friend of mine really liked it and wanted one. So I thought I would see what I could come up with tonight, sadly I didn't have enough charms to really pull it off but I was in jewelry making mode so I tried to copy something out of a book that I have, but with just a bunch of random charms that I have. That was going to be way to tedious and I thought it was going to look weird, but I did get a few charms on and then I left it the way it was. The necklace is totally random but I really like it that way. I started on another one, but like the first it wasn't going my way. I will probably tear it all apart and start over next time.

Today was very busy and by time I got home I didn't have time to actually make anything. Sadly I also have writer's block when it comes to In Witch... So I made a kind of chart as to what I could do and some possible outcomes. I think I finally know which way I want to go with the story. I will try to actually get a chapter posted tomorrow.

Today was the last of the cake decorating tricks that my mom was teaching me. We made lilies, primroses, apple blossoms, violets, and daffodils. Apple blossoms are my favorite, easy and cute.
